3. Stop Pitching

Who like non-stop sales pitches? Exactly, no one. Stop being pushy and using your status updates as never-ending pitches. Instead, engage your fans in meaningful conversations about your brand.

4. Always Response

It might be difficult to respond to each and every person, especially if your posts get hundreds to thousands of comments. But even if you just like a fan’s comment– that acknowledgement could turn someone from a fan to an advocate.

5. Moderate Spam and Negative Comments

Respond to anything negative, and hide spam. Keep your page clean and spam-free. First impression lasts a lifetime.

6. Keep Your Post Short

Keep your post below 250 characters. Facebook users do not like to read paragraphs, keep your post short and easy to consume.

7. Be Visually Appealing

People like visually appealing content. If you are posting text too frequently, try adding more of visual content. Upload photos about your brand, industry, team, etc.

8. Always Ask Before Each Post

Ask yourself this question before you ever hit the ‘post’ button. Will my fans gain knowledge? Will my fans be happy to see this? Will my fans laugh? If you can’t answer yes to at least one of these questions, scrap the post and start over.

9. Pin the Best Posts

Potential fans land onto your page and make the important decision, whether to like your page, or not.  Gain a better chance of converting these people by pinning your best post for a great first impression.

10. Never Post Offensive Content

Nothing is worse than posting political posts, religious debates or flaming content. There are always 2 sides to a coin, you will never know which group of fans will get offended. Be neutral, keep these topics to yourself.

11. Focus on Engagement, Not ‘Likes’

Page likes means nothing much in today’s context. What you should be looking at is engagement, stories, etc. These metrics define the social influence & visibility of your page.

12. Don’t Ignore Facebook Insights

Facebook Insights are like any other analytics, you need to read them to understand your page. It contains valuable information that allows you to make critical decisions in improving your page.

13. Know the Rules About Cover Photos

Follow strictly to the rules & guides about cover photos, it’s not worth risking closure of your page.

14. Don’t Auto Post from Applications

Stats show that content posted manually are more likely to perform better than those posted automatically. Besides, who wants to see similar messages across all your social accounts?

15. NEVER Buy Bulk Likes

It is a waste of money. Even though it is cheap, Facebook will eventually remove these likes from your page. It is not difficult to detect these fake Likes using algorithms.
