Facebook has updated its policy for pages’ cover photos, editing its policy against calls to action, contact info or references to price or purchase information, while maintaining the 20 percent limit for text overlay.
Facebook has redesigned recommendation stories to display the page’s cover photo in addition to its profile picture. The story will also include a user’s star rating if there is any. At this moment, recommendations are only enabled for pages that are associated with a location.
A call button has appeared to the right of the like button, directly underneath the About information on Facebook pages when viewed via the Android mobile application. Clicking it would automatically dial phone numbers linked to the pages.
Facebook users are reportedly seeing large “Like Page” button in the upper-right-hand corner of sponsored stories on Facebook desktop news feed. The new like page button is similar to the prominent “Like Page” button that appeared in the news feed on the social network’s iPhone application since July 2012.
Facebook is making life easier for advertisers by allowing page administrators to create new posts from the site’s ad creator tool and improving the targeting options for promoted posts. According to a Facebook spokesperson, these changes started to roll out to some page admins in late December 2012, and they should be available to everyone soon.
